January 29 - Feb 2

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you all had a great week!

MYP exams just finished so we got the Auditorium back on Thursday!

JK/SK Mon-Wed
We played some games in the classroom like Doggy Doggy who's got your bone! And Knock Knock!
The kids loved the games so much :) They might have brought some of those songs home to you as they were teaching the grade 1 and 2's the game at indoor recess yesterday!

Grade 1 and 2's Mon-Wed

I got the children to work with the hula hoop. We all held hands and had to get the hulahoop to travel through the circle. The kids had to work together to explain to their friends how to move the hoop without using your hands! We did 4 rounds.

1. Facing inside the circle and talking to explain to each other
2. No talking and we silently had to do the activity
3. Stand facing outwards and talking
4. Standing outwards and silent!

We had such a great time working together :)

Thursday - Friday

I taught the kids some new game and team working activities!
We played a game I like to call Monsters Inc. - The game is like musical chairs but with hula hoops. The kids have to dance around and when the music stops, the kids needs to jump into one of the hoops!
The JK/SK's didn't do elimination so we just danced around and started taking away 1 or 2 hoops.

The Grade 1 and 2's played with "the last friend inside a hoop became a judge with Ms. Yustin".

We also played a bean bag relay race!

There were two teams - Orange and Yellow. The kids were split into the two colours and each team had a side of the gym. One by one the kids were to run to the middle of the gym and grab 1 bean bag and run back to their base, drop off the bean bag, hive five the next friend in line and continue. The group with the most bean bags won!
We are going to play this game again on Monday but with 4 groups to make it a little more challenging for the kids.

Have a fantastic rest of your weekend!

Ms. Yustin
