Track and Field

St. Jude's has had a terrific track and field season this year. We had three separate teams, the under-10's, under-12's, and Elementary teams. These teams each competed at SSAF sanctioned track meets with our athletes doing fantastic! At the Under 10 meet, St.Jude's finished fourth overall out of 30 schools and Anthony in Grade 4 was named Top Athlete of the meet. We then carried over our success into the annual inter school competition with the Maples Academy, winning with a score of 357-194. We are very proud of all our St. Jude's athletes and look forward to another great season next year!

January 9-11

Hi Everyone!
Wow the first week back was crazy! It was so great to see the kids and play games with them again!

JK - We played some cooperative games as well as reminding the students about the rules and my STARS program. The kids love freeze dance, so they
We did frisbee toss and bowling!

SK - We played invasion games! Stations of Frisbee Golf, Bowling!

Grade 1 - We learned Soccer this week! The kids were introduced to simple rules like: pass with your feet, no hands, and only goalie can touch the ball with their hands.

Grade 2 - Went to the dome this week! Check out their pictures!

Grade 3 - We played a really fun soccer based game that your child would LOVE to explain to you. Mr. Orr has made up this game and we have yet to name it :)

Below are some pictures from the week!

November 12-23

Hi Everyone,

We just finished our games unit last week with the JK - Grade 2 classes. Ms. Foti's class has finished their unit! We are just waiting on one more group from Ms. Chiappetta's grade 3 class to present their summative before I can hand back the rubrics. So far, I've been SO impressed with their games. I will definitely be putting some of their games into my repertoire of games for us to play!

Last week November 12-16 was a very busy week.
We were able to begin our Healthy Choices unit for Health!

November 19-23
We begun our Gymnastics UNit! Unfortunately, I was only here for 3 days this week as my other Phys Ed teachers were either away with a team or sick. Being one of the PE teachers allows me to bring the older kids to the dome unlike another teacher. So Ms. Bancud filled in for me and played games while I was teaching Mr. Orr's Grade 4-7 and Mr. Beresford's Grade 8 - 10.

JK and SK - Colouring sheet of healthy fruits, watching videos on making healthy choices like: washing hands, being nice to friends, asking if we can touch our friends, and we played their new favourite game! Healthy Food Tag!
The SK's went into further detail on why we need to make healthy choices for our bodies where the JK's stated facts like: I should brush my teeth.

Grade 1 - The grade 1's begun discussing why we should make healthy choices every day and what happens if we don't make these decisions. We watched a video on Why we shouldn't eat sugar all the time and the kids were talking about how Glucose and Fructose are not healthy to me all week! It was fantastic!

Grade 2 - Finishing our games unit! Below are some pictures I took of their presentations.

Grade 3 - Finishing our games unit! Below are some pictures I took of their presentations.

Have a great weekend!
